Neopets Puzzle Adventure for Nintendo Wii

I played the Neopets Puzzle Adventure for the DS back in December 2008. The Wii game has been in my Gamefly Game Q sine then. I really enjoy the DS game and had similar expectations for the Wii game. I will admit the Wii game is pretty much the same and thus it would seem it would be enjoyable, too. However, the controls just are not all that great for a puzzle game and it seems the game really worked better as a touch screen control puzzle game and perhaps the PC version works good too with mouse control, but the pointing Wii remote controls are not very smooth working. This I could probably deal with, but that is not the only issue.

The game's graphics are also pretty crappy with the worst part being the text is mostly too small to read, which makes navigating the menus and stuff a pain. Also, it seems to very laggy throughout along with the loading screens seeming to take longer than most games.

Basically I do recommend the DS game if you like puzzle games, especially Othello, however, I do not recommend the Wii version no matter what. I gave up even trying to play it for some codes to enter on the site because it is of such poor quality. I know a lot of Wii games get a reputation as poor quality, but I have seem nothing this horrible on the Wii before.

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Ice Cream Machine. To beat AAA you need a score of 8,000 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 500 points. I am pretty good at this game, so I was able to beat AAA again. The code strawberryvanillachocolate gives you an extra life and might help you last longer to get a good enough score.

Daily Dare Day 27: Double Dare Day

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Hassee Bounce. To beat AAA you need a score of 175 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 30 points. Today is another Double Dare Day, I think the last one for this year. I was easily able to beat AAA at this game because I tend to get at least 200 at this game. By the way the code doughnutfruit really helps, as it fills up the time back to full once, so use it right before you run out the first time. The extra time is really the key to scoring at least 175 pretty much every time.

New Game: Barf Boat

Neopets latest game has been released. The newest game is called Barf Boat. It is basically a balance game kind of like the Penguin game on Wii Fit. You try to keep the boat level to keep the petpets from falling off. It is pretty darn hard. More petpets come if you last long enough, but do not worry if some fall off, as the game continues as long as you keep one on board. There really is not that much of a disgusting aspect like the name suggests except that when you do get game over the Captain barfs to the front of the screen with the words Game Over. The ship does rock back and forth as you balance it, so I guess it could perhaps be a bad game for those with motion sensitivity issues. Overall I think it is not too bad of a game, but it can get frustrating to have the patience to get the hang of how to balance it to keep the petpets from falling off right away.

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Dubloon Disaster. To beat AAA you need a score of 1,000 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 40 points. It took me a few tries including an annoying 975 first try, but I was able to beat AAA today.

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Petpet Plunge. To beat AAA you need a score of 550 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 70 points. I have not really played this game much since it is new and did not really appeal to me when I first tried it. Thus my high score was only in the 200s, but I decided to at least give it a chance to see if I could get better with some practice. I did eventually get a good enough score to beat AAA, so I am glad I kept trying, especially since the prize is so cool.

I have not played this game in a while, but I noticed my high score was almost 1,000, so I spent some time trying to beat AAA. However, I could not really get any better than about 450, so I just ended up challenging Abigail today.

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Piper Panic. To beat AAA you need a score of 4,000 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 250 points. I can almost always beat all the levels, but beating it and being over 4,000 is not always easy. I finally figured out the trick of getting the star baskets in a row last to get the star bonus points at the end of the level and that made it easy to get over 4,000.

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Sutek's Tomb. To beat AAA you need a score of 2,500 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 100 points. Today is a double dare day, so if you beat AAA as a double dare challenge you get both AAA's and Abigail's prizes. I have not played this game much, but I was able to beat AAA in one try and got my highest score so far on the game.

I love this game and while I do not always get over 3,000 I did not mind taking the time to be able to beat AAA today. Some codes that might help you beat Sutek include plzsutekcanihavemoretime (gives you extra 30 seconds), scarabeus (gives extra 30 seconds), and pyramibread (this gives you a hint at a match and can be used as many times as you want).

Game Guide and Review: Brain Tree Quest

My last Game Guide and Review by id number was on Nimmo's Pond. The next game going in id number order is Brain Tree Quest with an id number of 75. If you have a request for a guide on a specific Neopets game, then just comment on any of my game guide posts and I will put that on top of my list of games to review. When I do not have requests, then I will just continue going in order by id number.

Brain Tree Quest

Brain Tree Quest does not really seem like much of a game, but it does appear under a game id page and it is a high score game. To do the Brain Tree Quest you start by going to the Brain Tree in the Haunted Woods area of Neopia. Once you accept the quest from the Brain Tree you have a certain amount of time to find the where and when of the death of some made up character. The answers always vary, so do not thin you can just get the answers by others having done it before. To get the answers you must do Esophagor quests. You have to do two quests to get the two answers (where and when).

The Esophagor asks for different spooky foods. Sometimes they are expensive, while other times the items are cheap. Often it is not worth buying the expensive stuff, as the rewards are not usually that big. For example, in research for this post I spent 70,000 on dong Esophagor's quests, but the Brain Tree Quest only gave me 2,021 Neopoints and an item worth only about 200 Neopoints.

Overall I find the Brain Tree Quest a waste of time. For one, the Esophagor quests are often expensive. Also, sometimes the first Esophagro quest will be cheap, but then the second one might be outrageous. Pretty much seems that it can only be worth it if you spend less than 2,000 on items.

New Game: Petpet Plunge

The newest Neopets game has been launched. It is called Petpet Plunge. The game's objective is to get the petpet to pick up all the items in each level. You only have a few shots per level (seems like it might always be 4). You pretty much just guide the petpet with power and direction by pulling the arrow in the direction you want to go from the PetPet. It is pretty easy to play, but also pretty boring. There is just no action to it. At the same time it is kind of frustrating to figure out how to score big points and make it worth playing for Neopoints. I found it too boring to even want to try and master, though.

Today's Daily Dare Challenge is Spacerocked!. To beat AAA you need a score of 5,000 points and to beat Abigail you need a score of 500 points. Before today my high score was in the 4,000s, but on my third try I beat the game and got a score in the 14,000s, so I was able to beat AAA today.

Key Quest Double Key Promotion on March 14, 2009

They are doing yet another Key Quest load test Double Key Promotion. This third one will be on March 14, 2009 between 5pm and 6pm NST. This is the first on a Saturday and I wonder if that will allow more to be part of it. The first one was pretty hard to get a game in for. The second one seemed to run pretty smoothly at least for me. Thus this could be about normal or a horrendous time to try to play Key Quest.

I am not the best at this game, but every once in a while I can get over 700. I planned to try really hard today because I wanted to do the Double Dare challenge of AAA to win both prizes. I for once got lucky in my third try I got a Fish Negg early on and that really helped me get a 752 to beat AAA and win the Double Dare today.

March 3, 2009 Double Key Quest Promotion

Head over to Key Quest right now for the hour long Double Key promotion. The loading is not too bad this time. I guess they upgraded servers or something, as it is much more smooth compared to last time. It is not the best and I have had some problems, but I did at least get in a quick game already. I wonder if they will actually give out a virtual prize this time, as I cannot tell that I got anything for participating last time.
