I again did not get much playing in. Hoping for good connection as we drive for 10 hours tomorrow, so I can get some playing in between getting up-to-date on my Ballpark trip blog.

Altador Cup IV Stats Update June 13, 2009

My Internet connection did work very well as we drove yesterday, so I did not get much playing in. I was one point away from Rank 4 and it totally drove me nuts as it came in and out and kept coming in to load a game and then went out as I tried to send the score. I finally did it, though. I officially have done better than last year. I still am aiming for Level 20, but being on this trip is more important and keeping that blog updated is as well. However, today is a day game and I might have time to play some more tonight.

Altador Cup IV Stats Update June 12, 2008

I had less than an hour for Internet stuff today, so I just quickly got in 3 of each game for today. Perhaps I will get some time to play tomorrow as it is a driving day on my trip, but it will mostly depend on if the Internet thing for my laptop gets good service. Two more Slushie Slinger games, one more YooYuball game, and getting up to Rank 4 would have be ahead of every stat for me last year, except Goals by Prytariel.

New Game: The Haunted Shootery

The latest Neopets game is called The Haunted Shootery. Not the best time to release a new game, as I would rather focus on the Altador Cup IV, but still I felt I must give it at least one chance before going back to focusing on the Cup. I am not all that impressed with it. It is just a simple three level and boss level game. I have no idea how people get in the 3,000s, as I beat it and only got 493, but at the same time it is so boringly short that I do not really care to figure that out. Maybe, if it was not time for the Altador Cup.

Better Than You: Trouble at the National Neopian

This week's Better Than You features The Bank Manager. Below is his challenge statement.

"Something has to be done about these thieves! You there -- how would you like a position as a bank guard for a day? Help get these criminals behind bars and you will be justly rewarded!"

To beat him you must get 1,650 points in Trouble at the National Neopian.

Prize is Pile of Straw for a Skeith Farmer for the 500 winners. Additionally, you get a Gold Trophy and 20,000 Neopoints if you are the first 10, Silver Trophy and 10,000 Neopoints if you are between the 11th and 50th, and a Bronze Trophy and 3,000 Neopoints if you are between 51st and 500th.

Altador Cup IV Stats Update June 10, 2009

I got a decent amount of playing in yesterday before the Internet connection turned frustratingly intermittent as we began to again enter the West. This is our last drive into the West nothingness until July, though, so hopefully I will not have too much of an issue trying to play on the road for the rest of the Altador Cup IV.

Apple Jacks Glider Challenge Sponsor Game Gives Away Virtual Item

Today I was looking at this week's news and noticed that the Apple Jacks Glider Challenge sponsor game gives away a virtual prize the first time you get over 500 playing it. It is racing game that you fly and try to collect Apple Jack cereal pieces on the way to the finish line. If you win you go to the next level. There are three levels. I found it easy to get over 500 on my first try and was reward with Top Glider Pack. The Top Glider Pack is toy airplanes you can play with your pet with.

Game Guide and Review: Slushie Slinger

I normally go in order of game id numbers, but I figured with the Altador Cup IV going on it would be a good time to get around to doing Game Guides and Reviews for the Altador Cup games. I already wrote about the first Altador Cup game, Yooyuball. Today I will post about the second, which is Slushie Slinger. If you have a request for a guide on a specific Neopets game, then just comment on any of my game guide posts and I will put that on top of my list of games to review. When I do not have requests, then I will just continue going in order by id number.

Slushie Slinger

In Slushie Slinger you serve up slushies to fans at the Altador Cup games. You use the arrow keys and space bar to turn and serve up the right colored slushies to the customers. You use the arrows to go up and down to the correct lane or slushie machine you want. You then go right and press space to have the slushie you want made. You then go back to the left and the lane you want to deliver the slushie. You get more points for serving the correct colored slushie, but you still get points if it is the wrong color and near the end it is easiest to do just whatever is closest to keep in the game.

When the customers are finished you must collect the empty cups before the reach the end of the conveyor belt and fall off. If the cups fall you lose on of your five lives. You can also lose a life if you accidentally serve a slushie to a line that no one is waiting for a slushie at.

Overall this is a pretty easy game to at least get the minimum 300 needed for it to count towards rank points. For every two qualifying plays you get 1 rank point. It is certainly way more time consuming than getting rank points from Yooyuball, but it can be a nice alternative that is at least worth more than Make Your Noise and Shootout Showdown per play.
